«The Rule of Law Research Centre is an academic research unit at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. It was founded by Professor Mykola Koziubra in 2007 to perform fundamental research in the field of the rule of law and aiming at incorporating modern approaches to its understanding and practical application to Ukrainian legal science. The Center has initiated and supports the formation of the new academic research school “Rule of Law as the Basic Doctrine of Constitutional State”.
Experts of the Center perform quality research and teaching activities in the fields of the rule of law theory, global and national practice of its application, its status and perspectives of further implementation in Ukraine. The Center has been a driving force of a wide range of quality research as well as practical projects, including those with partnering international organizations.
Experts of the Center also provide quality consultations on a wide range of rule of law issues in the fields of legal drafting and application of legal norms to state and municipal bodies, as well as legal persons engaged in the sphere of law both within complex projects of different type and individually. The Center has particularly developed certain legislative initiatives and propositions to registered draft laws as well as provided academic opinions to judges, courts and particular lawyers in certain cases. The findings of academic research made by the Center are actively applied by the members of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Department of Legal Theory and Public Law in their individual research as well as for activities engaging students. Experts of the Center have particularly developed several applied academic courses, namely “Rule of Law: Practicum” for students of “Law” bachelor’s program and “Rule of Law in Management” for students of “Social Politics and Management” master’s program taught at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.
